BP #5

/*Singapore and Moscow are the two countries that got into the final round of the bid for the Youth Olympics 2010. You are the leader of the Singapore team, about to make a presentation to the committee considering your bid. Prepare a presentation.*/

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am here today to bid for Singapore to host the Youth Olympics 2010. As you all know, Singapore is a very small country and you might think it unfit to host somthing as big as the Youth Olympics. However, Singapore has many world-class facilities and equipment. It is more than fit to host the Youth Olympics 2010. Singapore is also one of the cleanest cities in the world with its well known nickname "The green city". Singapore also has a high connectivity to the world, and is one of the world's most youthful independant country. Singapore has a reputation for excellence globally and has a unique multiracial harmony. All in all, it would be the perfect city to host the youth olympics.
Thank you for your kind attention

  2. First of all, a very short speech. Do you really think that if the person who bidded for Singapore had written something this short, the bid would have gone to Singapore? No sir. Yan Kai, think more in-depth man. Be more realistic. Don't do things for the sake of doing them. Sheesh. The speech should talk about Singapore's capabilities; world-class sports facilities etc. You also can write about other things not related to blog prompts, you know. Like the person who exchanged seats with you. Person X. Oh and BTW, this is Adriel.

  3. Hi Yan Kai, okay speech but not very relevant/inclusive. Your points don't elaborate on WHY SG FOR OLYMPICS, rather it just talks about WHY SG IS GOOD.
    Cheers, Sw.

  4. A little short, points can be elaborated on. Why would singapore be good for the Olympics? As I see it, the green city and other points are about why singapore in general / other ctuff like connectivity is relevant. Good Job

  5. Hi Yan Kai, what I don't understand is why do you affirm their suspicions right at the start? If I am somone who is trying to convince another party, I would never say things like 'Singapore is a very small country and you might think it unfit to host somthing as big as the Youth Olympics.' Why do you even want to remind them of something which obviously will not work to your advantage? What world-class facilities are you talking about? Esplanade? cos Esplanade has nothing to do with the Youth Olympics. So you see? Points must be more concrete and back up with evidence and elaboration for one to believe in you.

Btw, the post is definitely below word limit. =_=
